I'm having trouble with this update as well. I inserted the disc and the update worked, BUT it froze at about 80% and automatically restarted. Everytime I start the car, it says it's restarting the update and then is says update failed. This message goes on and on and never stops. Does anyone know what I can do?

hey guys, THANKS FOR THE BYPASS!!!!! I just finished reading this forum and immediately downloaded the file and burned it and installed it on my Z2... and you know what???? IT WORKED ON THE FIRST TRY! this is awesome! it turns out that the guys who installed my Z2 for me already did the 2 wire bypass because it works!!! This bypass came right on time, I'm driving to orlando on Friday! yaaaaaaaaaaay! again, THANKS! now, you know what would be pretty cool? if there was a way to copy MP3's to the hardrive and get them to play so that we can store more music.... any ideas?

If I install the update disk on my Z2... will it make it a Z2 bypassed for sure? Also, will it mess up any features of my Z2? the last thing I would want is for my Z2 unit to be messed up... also, how much was the update disk if we just buy it from pioneer?

How do I get the software disk to update my Z2?

Im having a problem with the night and day function for the navigation of the Z2. You know how during the day it would show it in day time and at night it would be black? well on mine, it only gives an option of automatic and day time, but no night. and at night, it doesn't switch to night time.. any one have any idea why? or what to do? I would appreciate it! thanks

This sucks, my box doesn't have the yellow dot and I just purchased the AVIC Z2 yesterday.. How do I check the Build date on my unit?

well excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me ipguy, this was my first time checking out this site and the forum, so before I had the chance to read all the other posts, I asked my question. I bought the unit without realizing it wasn't bypassable. I found a way to bypass the unit but unfortunately, it would mean cutting wires and possibly voiding the warranty. But I've heard it works and has been tested. - not sure if I want to risk killing my warranty with pioneer
