teonaltima
When I put the CD in for the bypass, it says I'm trying to install the old software and I've never attempted to load software on the deck. I burned a copy of the software recommended and that was the results that I got. Is there a new version out or something? I would think if I'm up to par then I should be bypassing the functions that I'm trying to bypass. Have I missed out on something? What should I do. I've searched and searched and searched! any help provided will be greatly appreciated -Teonaltima
Hyperite
Nothing new... if it says you're up to date just do 2-wire and good to go.

Even 2 local professional install shops that do these bypasses have been unable to do both the bypass for me as well as the firmware, due to the problem you described. They encounter the same issue as I do, everything has been double checked...wiring etc. And the firmware version indicates the version BEFORE the firmware upgrade. I dunno man. I gave up on trying to get either one of them to work. I spent money to try and get this done and nothing got resolved in the way of a firmware update or a bypass. The instructions may be simple and straight forward on here, yes, and I have even had people who get paid to do this type of thing for a living look at my Z2, so I know it is not just me. Something is up with my Z2. All I can say is be prepared to be frustrated.
garrettoomey
Have you tried to use the z3 image on your HD to see if the firmware upgrade would work directly from the HD?
