MylesG23
Well I was all excited about getting my Avic D3 installed today, They were not busy at all and said they could get it installed. I come to Car Tunes to get the estimate they're like "well $500 for labor and around 400 for parts, so you;re looking at around a grand..." Are you kidding me? What should I do?[/i]

HiFiSi
Tell them to give you a list of these parts. And post it here.
MylesG23
http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos- ... 8_4049.jpg Well, I don't think i'll go back to cartunes anytime soon. Also doesn't that look like double din? I'm not sure.. I just need a new navigation player, because this one (stock) is out of date.
madsonp
That sure doesn't look like a double DIN to me, I could see where they'd charge quite a bit for installation. It looks as though it would take quite a bit of modification to make it work.
HiFiSi
Looking at that picture, it's going to require a good deal of work to get a double-DIN (or single DIN or any other size) unit in there. It's going to also require a custom made trim bezel/dash piece... $1000 could be completely legit for that job, depending on what that shop charges for labor.
MylesG23
that blows, why are there not double din kits for the seville?
HiFiSi
Because GM designed the dashboard like assholes.
Julius
Before you let anyone do a custom bezel ask to see some pics of their work to see what level of craftmanship they're at.You don't want to be disapointed after they do the work and pay 1,000 dollars.
