fatboitan
the problem is when i am trying to switch to the next song, it sometime take longer then usual to load the next song. I only have about 4gb of music so i know its not an issue of overloading the ipod. Also including the lag time there is also some point where it wont even load the song name or let me control the ipod. has anyone had these problems? i have a fifth gen 30gb ipod video btw. VBLUE42
Sounds like you need to reset your ipod or resync it in itunes. That is, completely wipe it clean and reload your media on it. Sometimes over time it can get like you described. Doing one of the 2 I have suggested will usually do the trick. Other then that your ipod may be starting to become defective. fatboitan
well i just reset my ipod plus use the restore button. It gotten a little faster but there is some lag what else do you suggest i do? i bought it off ebay and i have the square trade warranty plus the seller 60 day warranty. It work fine with my head phone but not with the avic so what can i do now?
VBLUE42
It could also be a bad ipod cable. Switch out the cable if possible. Also, if you can try another ipod to see if you get the same problem. If it works fine then your ipod is probably defective.
fatboitan
it must be this ipod problem because my gf nano works perfect. It is just weird how it work fine with the headset but when it is the avic then it becomes a problem. The ipod cable is fine because i bought it brand new and the nano never had a lag issue. I just dont get it.
VBLUE42
Just Because it works with the headset does not mean its not defective. The headset does not use the dock connector on the ipod like the cable does. I would try to get it replaced or service.

HiFiSi
I think that would be the case had he not tried a different ipod and that one worked fine. Seeing as one worked fine and the other didn't, my guess would be tat the data port is malfunctioning and slowing down the data rate or causing communication problems, or there's something wrong with it internally. fatboitan
well im in the process of sending this ipod back to get it fix from the ebay seller. moonisharsh
If it is the problem of data transmition, otherwise,it can`t be work partially...i just guess

kgee
Same thing happened with my new 4000DVD. I put about 20 vids I converted from youttube...they worked. Then I added about 50 more and only one(the first) video plays...to play anything else I need to use the iPod control itself, not through the touchscreen. If I try doing it that way, it blanks out the song, artist ...etc. and says "stopped" DId you solve your problem? I've kinda given up, but if I can reformat(3rd or 4th time on my 5th gen 30gb) and it works, then I am good to go. But I doubt it. I also have about 20gb used on mine though. fatboitan
they couldnt solve it so i got a refund and i just bought a used 60gb so hopefully this one will work. But reformating your ipod won't work it is the ipod charge port that cause the problem. So replace it or repair it.
