dye4metal
ok so i bought my d3 the other day off of caraudio.com and i recieved it yesterday and installed it today and i noticed that it asks for the "appropriate" disc on start up and i when i go to put my navigation disc in it takes it in for a couple seconds then it comes back out. same thing with CDs too. HiFiSi
Maybe there's already another disk in there that it won't eject...
CatchMeIfYouCan631
it would still take a 2nd cd in like that???
HiFiSi
I've seen weirder things... if the mechanism's messed up and doesn't realize there's already one in there it will.
dye4metal
well it makes the normal noises and stuff its just it takes about 3-4 seconds and the disc comes back out?? i mean i dont want to get this thing fixed either. i looked in the back hatch and didnt see a disc? CatchMeIfYouCan631
if theres no disc in there then its gotta be the disc or the reader inside....unless HiFiSi has another suggestion as to what it could be id put my money on that.
dye4metal
should i open it up and see if anythings wrong. i mean i hate sending things in.

HiFiSi
If you just bought it and it's not working correctly, send it back.
Julius
Send it back, don't void the warranty and be stuck with a non working unit!
dye4metal
well i bought it used off caraudio.com in a private sale. i mean it was made in july of 2007? this is depressing. how much are the CD things in these things??
dye4metal
its been reset and what not and it keeps asking for the disc. the disc is super scratched up though. i mean nothing on the screen says error or anything that the actual player is bad. i just need a new copy i think?
