Any of you tried this Z3 drive from Ebay

Recommended Posts

Hey there all I have been reading alot of posts on upgrading from the Z2 to the Z3 and upgrading via a new harddrive with more space. I was able to pic up a new 60GB hardrive with the Z3 image loaded on it from Ebay for about 70 bucks and I was just curious if anyone of you have used this guys drives before. I haven't loaded it in yet, just trying to find out if it is a good product.

Here is his info. Thanks

Got mine from a forum member, and it works great. Don't chance it with ebay junk.

Thanks, I did pm Garrett with my concerns on the unit and he did tell me if I was truly worried about it I could send him the drive and have him check it out for me and send it back. I may just do that, but there shouldn't be any harm in putting the drive in and see if it works, as I would still have the original backup. I wish that I had found this site earlier and I would of just ordered one from Garrett. It is the correct drive though, Toshiba 60GB and not looking at the software itself and just going off what the auction said it is the correct load and not the mash up version.

I guess I will see, thanks for the reply

Got my 60GB off of the link on ebay and it works great!

Now I am confused, did you get your 60gb drive from eBay or garrettoomey? In your post here:

You stated that you got it from me...

Whoa, I don't even know how I posted in your post Garrett. Sorry about that, I meant to say that I got it off of here: http://myworld.ebay.com/dealsonelectronics/

Yeah mine works fine, put it in tonight. One thing that you all may want to try when removing your drives, the small philips screws, take the zero bit and rgrind the tip of it off, works better and won't strip.

Garrett thanks for you time on this one. Seems to be working ok, I haven't taken it for a drive or anything like that yet, but seems alright.
