New F90BT install and issues

Everyone,

 

I just had a professional install on my new Al Eds F90BT. A couple of issues have surfaced.

 

1. The ipod connection doesn't work. I have no IPOD. I have a 5G ipod. I did the AV1 input to ipod. Nothing. Nada. A question is does the VR update before the ipod comes on? I have 9000 plus songs on my 80 gig ipod. Does it have to load the first time before it plays? Do you think the cables were not hooked up?

 

2. No bluetooth. I have a pantech n810 aka the helio ocean. I go into discovery mode and the phone doesn't connect. I have a samsung bluetooth earpiece that connects great. Am I missing something?

 

I tried doing a 5 second reset on the unit and no go.

umm well i guess some wires might not be connected unsure on that... but the ocean does work i tested with my friends took a few mins but it finally sent the pin code over and i was able to pair it but couldnt sync contacts

The iPod issue is fairly common for new hook ups.

 

You need to make sure they hooked up the USB connection AND the composite connections (Into A/V 1).

 

There should be 4 connections:

 

(1) USB

(2) Audio (L/R)

(1) Video

 

I had the same issue when I installed mine. I didn't realize the USB didn't transfer audio and video. It is only for charging the iPod.

Thanks for the tip on the USB. The ipod is working now. But.....

 

I still cannot connect my pantech cell phone. I tryed using discoverymode on the phone. Nope. Any other ideas?

 

Second issue. I cannot see my system information. I cannot see if the update was done or not. Bought an 8 gig sdhc card. Loaded it up on the sd. But the auto update not kicking in. ?????

 

I have a blue dot on the outisde of th box but Pioneer said there should be a blue dot on thunit itself near the serial number. None there. Does that mean I have to do the update?

I had to put the ocean into discovery a few times but it finally worked i dunno what to say it wasnt as easy as other phones but i just told it to go into discovery like 3 times in a row and the headunit sent the ocean a command and asked for the pin dunno why its not working for you man

Thanks my man. I am beginning to think I have a bad unit. I sent an emal to pioneer support

The good guys at Al Eds is going to let me exchange out the unit. Sending it off and will have a hole in my dash for the next couple of days. Bummer
