  1. Microsoft offered free upgrades to Windows 7 ONLY because they are partnered with manufactures who would have taken a hit in PC sales from people waiting for the new OS. Microsoft DOES NOT make a habit of giving their software away, NOR SHOULD PIONEER. Why do you think Pioneer was offering a $200 dollar rebate on their head unit . . . and now the upgrade price is $200. Doesn't take a rocket scientist people . . . they knew that word of the Z120 would get out, but they didn't want to take a hit in sales on the Z110. We demand all these upgrades/modifications and then expect Pioneer
  2. I would settle for knowing exactly what the Z110 uses the VSS wire for, and what I am missing out on by not hooking it up. Thanks.
  3. I just installed the Z110 in my 2003 F250 Superduty and absolutely love it (eventhough I am looking forward to the Z120 S/W upgrade). Just a quick question, what does the VSS wire get me besides being able to see my speed in the GPS configuration (I believe they call that speed pulse)? My old F90bt pulled speed from the GPS itself, so I dont believe I ever connected the VSS. What will I be missing out on if I do not connect it? If there are any 2003 F250 Superduty owners out there who know where I can tap into the VSS, I would appreciate a point in the right direciton. Tha
  4. Hey guys I just need some advice on what unit to purchase. I had an Avic F90BT that got theived out of my truck. I was going to buy the Avic-Z110BT but wasn't aware the Z120 is coming out until I jumped on here today. So the question is, what does the Z120 get me that the Z110 cannot? Do I go ahead and buy the Z110, or will I regret it when the Z120 is release? Thanks for the input!
  5. Anyone attempt to install something like a 2.5" external hard drive in their vehicle to store movies? I know there were processing lag issues with the F90BT. Is the Z110BT any better at streaming the media from an external drive? I have a 160G iPod classic that is full of movies. I would love to be able to drop a .5 terabyte hard disk in the vehicle for movies only, connect it via USB, and be done with it. I could reclaim all that space on the iPod for music. Anyone have the same thought?
  6. Hey F Series Geniuses! I am asking a question that I know has been asked already. I have searched and reviewed the existing discussions on this. However, I have not seen a good answer so I am asking again. I have an F90BT (that does frustrate me sometimes but overall I LOVE it). I am looking to attach an external hard drive to store my movies. I have an iPod and it does a great job at storing and playing my movies, however it does not have adequate storage space to hold to number of movies I would like to keep on hand. I have found that I tend to lower the rip quality which causes
  7. What would happen if we just removed the sounds from the sounds folder? Would we blue screen? haha I haven't tried it but I have a backup of the files. Maybe I try and just delete the wav files??? I agree though, the smaller files seem to make a big difference.
  8. This worked perfectly for me and I swear it made the whole thing run smoother with a lot less hanging time! Great mod!
  9. skicrave, Is the data.zip file posted the latest and greatest? I am about to perform the mod but would like to know that I am installing your latest version. Thanks!
  10. So I updated the 4 wav files to silence the annoying key beeps while in the A/V section of my F90BT. I may be crazy but it REALLY seems to me that the buttons (physical and on screen) respond more quickly now and the system doesn't appear to hang or lag as badly as it did. Could substituting the 40kb system files with the 7 kb silent wav files really have made that big of a difference or am I just being optimistic? I know 40 kb isn't that large but could the .wav file size combined with the code to perform whatever task is assigned to the button be causing the system to lag? E
  11. F-series model: F90BT Phone make/model: T-Mobile 8320 "Curve" Ease of connection: Simple from Phone, Connects Automatically each time Phone book transfer: Does Not Work At All Sound quality: Decent Comments: Bluetooth Connects automatically but has difficulty staying connected. I eventually turned BT off on my phone until the "alleged" update from parot.
  12. The iPod issue is fairly common for new hook ups. You need to make sure they hooked up the USB connection AND the composite connections (Into A/V 1). There should be 4 connections: (1) USB (2) Audio (L/R) (1) Video I had the same issue when I installed mine. I didn't realize the USB didn't transfer audio and video. It is only for charging the iPod. Good Luck!
  13. Not necessary although it will help the GPS accuracy. I do not have it hooked up on my F250 and the unit operates fine. Having this wire connected does not effect whether or not you can perform the bypass.
  14. Some of the others can correct me if I am wrong but: USB - To charge the iPod while connected to the doc RCA - To transfer Audio and Video
  15. Not sure on #1 or #2 Never had problems with discs and I have XM not Sirius #3 I had the same problem. The local shop more than likely connected the ipod using only the USB cable. This does not work. You have to physically connect the ipod to A/V Input 1 using the approporate a/v adaptor for your iPod (should have L/R Audio and Video composite cables). This "comes with" the F90bt. I use quotes because mine did not. You can pick the adaptor from any Apple store or get it online. Good Luck . . .
