mlg9038
Does the Z1 support HD radio? Doesn't seem to. I haven't seem any support for it at all. I have several stations broadcasting in my area now.
bdmpastx
I haven't seen anything from Pioneer for HD radio at all. Pioneer has let that ball drop. We have a ton of HD Stations in Houston and I can't listen to any of them on my Z1. The 2 year old Kenwood in my truck has HD Radio Ready on it. I may have to get a tuner for it soon. But I am afraid if I do, I will be pissed that Pioneer hasn't come up with something. Maybe it is due to the contract with XM radio and they want everyone to pay for digital radio. sportsfan21
You can probably get one of those IP bus to RCA Audio inputs and hook up a HD tuner to that and then control the tuner via a remote.
ducatiboy
I thought I remembered seeing a HD radio add on for this unit (maybe on crutchfield) but I don't see it now. I remember considering HD radio for the Z1 but the $500 price tag drove me away. Could this be all in my mind? If it is... FYI the sky is green!
PAID BY FORD
ok guys, please dont laugh but just what exactly is HD radio?. I hear some of my local stations say it but does it sound any different?
sportsfan21
Its the same thing as HDTV, HD= high definition, but its supposed to have CD quality sound coming over the radio. I have never heard it, but I would guess it sounds better. To me it, along with satellite radio isn't worth it because I have all my music on my iPod.
