defjux921
so i was all ready to get myself an f90bt until i walked into an al&ed's and saw how excruciatingly slow it was to boot up, and even after that how laggy it was. so now im considering a z series, or a d series if i can still get one for a cheap price... unless somebody can tell me the latest update fixes everything and makes it boot faster? 1.5 minutes is ridiculous... i think i could live with 30 seconds if i had too... it seems as if the z and d series both come up in less than 10 seconds... HiFiSi
No current firmware updates address the boot up time.
riveraguy
It boots off a hard drive compare it to your windows computer its takes a few mins right . sg5845
My BMW has all the same stuff as the F-90 (which I have in my truck) but BMW was smart. It has a 60 second boot but starts when I press the UNLOCK button on my remote. (Very Smart) By the time you get in and start the car, it's about 15-20 sec. to boot. Now, if someone can invent a "gizmo" to add to the Pioneer system to tie into the "unlock function" of remotes, you could make some serious money!
riveraguy
It Boots up off a hard drive just like your PC so think about how long your pc takes to boot same time as the F90bt so yest it sucks but When it loads it works great DVD, Voice, Bluetooth, Ipod Its amazing
djhuab
my kenwood dnx5120 boots up in 6 seconds. you can even choose how long you want to the start up screen to stay on (short middle long) pretty cool i think
defjux921
well its not a hard drive but thats irrelevant.. ended up going with the avic-z3... after seeing how slow the f series was in the store and the fact that i really don't like garmin navi (kenwood) it was a pretty easy choice. djhuab
i based my chose on accuracy and the maps look pretty good imo. pioneer said they had 12 million poi and the kenwood has half that but so far i found all the poi on the kenwood that i didnt have on the avic. plus the UI has a better resolution and looks great
