This is old, I have a 2GB formatted SD Card FAT32 (Sandisk Ultra II) I have put the 2 folders from testmode.zip into the root of the SD card.

Placed the SD card into the unit, then turned the car to ignition, and it just boots up as normal.

Any clues?

UPDATE: Tried a 4GB Panasonic card still the same, no testmode.

Problem solved, was using the wrong testmode zip version. Phew.

Where is the link for the updated testmode zip? I've had the exact issue. The how to steps and sticky hacks and mod link needs to be updated. Searching this forum is rather difficult.

As of 13Jul2010 this post has a working testmode for systems with 3.02 upgrades: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=32520#p218494

This link or file name should be updated to reflect this. There are several links with "old" testmode. A noobie is not going to know one from the other, ever. Thanks to BorisM for help via PM. :)
