teksimian
how can you hack a CD drive to play DVDs? Thats like trying to make a DVD player play Blu-Ray Disc. Wow. Is it a cdrom drive, or just a software limitation.
HiFiSi
It's a CD drive. There would be no reason that Pioneer would spend the extra money to install DVD drives in the units just to pay the coders even more money to alter the software to make it read only CD's. irkgreen
There's a good chance they saved money in production by making the only difference between the units a software difference. Are the AVIC-F900BT and AVIC-F90BT's physically any different then the 700 otherwise? If they are then it probably is a CDrom in the 700. If they arent different then perhaps you are on to something. Is there a way to get into the device manager in winCE? I dont recall seeing the drive even recognized by winCE.
