avicer
Hi, I did the bypass on the parking brake wire successfully. I do not have a connector two, hence cannot just plug a cable into the harness to bypass. Does anyone have an idea how to bypass without this plug? I was thinking of wiring a cable to ground and to that last pin, but I am not sure how I would secure it... Thanks in advance!
Hyperite
You can contact pioneer for a replacement harness. Using a harness is the only recommended wiring technique to avoid the possibility of fire or damage to the unit.
freelunch
I soldered the mute wire directly to the required pin (the bottomost pin on the rightside) and it works fine
dawgbone
I soldered the mute wire directly to the required pin (the bottomost pin on the rightside) and it works fine If you go this route, I'd add a small piece of some heat shrink to it as well...just to be safe.. freelunch
I couldnt find any shrinkwrap, so i covered the soldered pin and exposed part of the wire with electrical tape. I also taped down the wire to the headunit body to minimize vibrations shaking loose the solder. I think it should be sufficent
nohkul
Is it possible to get the connector only? Hoping for a part number I can Google. Pioneer wants $38 for the harness. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CDE8084
