wilburpan
A couple more things occurred to me about this unit. 1. What kind of theft deterrence does the F700BT use? From the one I saw at Best Buy, there isn't a detachable screen or faceplate, unless I missed something. 2. For Bluetooth phone operation, is there a built-in microphone in the head unit, or is running the microphone wire absolutely necessary? And where do you have your microphone? wonderdiva
1. No, with the exception of the password lock and that basically prevents someone from using it unless they take it to a Pioneer Service Center/Authorized Dealer which if you register it then they will know it is yours and stolen. 2. You have to install the microphone... best place most have found is to the left of the sun visor or directly on the visor.
Ravage
I know not much of a deterrent, but you can install this on some cars with screwes then it can't be ripped out. Though it won't stop them from trying I guess.
CatchMeIfYouCan631
Look into Security screws. They're installed with flathead screwdrivers and its curved upward towards the counterclockwise direction so the screwdriver slips if you try to unscrew them. only way around it is taking a dremil to the screw
