  1. I know this is old info, but it helped me restore my bricked unit. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the link! Was looking for that. Edit: Ack, after step 5, when I restart the unit, it does not boot into test mode. I get my splash screen, and then it feels like the unit turns off. How long of a wait is it usually?
  3. I've noticed the compass is bugged, even before the update. It seems when you were heading in a southward direction, the east and west were backwards. So If I was heading SW, the compass would show SE. I need to go back and look at it again.
  4. This workaround for music seems to be working well so far.
  5. I know what you mean. Pretty sure 2.0 showed the map, but after you hung up, and tried to access anything, then you got the warning.
  6. You might have to play with it to find the ideal size. You might need more than 4 folders.
  7. I tried calling earler to see how they would respond, and basically that representative I spoke to claims they never heard of people having SD card playback issues, and to try reformating the card, reinstalling the update, or send the unit in for service...
  8. What it sounds like it is trying to cache most of the MP3s into memory for some reason, and with less availible RAM after the patch, it starts having trouble. If I understand correctly, instead of having all of the songs in a single folder, he split them by artist, and didn't have more than 80Mb in each folder. If that is true, if I left the unit on Random->Card, will it still operate like how it was organized before? Or will I have to change folders? I'll have to try this later when I get home.
  9. Most cases, you won't get any extra for aftermarket parts. You are almost always better to go back to stock, and sell the parts separately.
  10. same here Ditto. I get the same results sometimes. Its random, and it could be 1 of 3 outcomes. [*:28t4qv46]Runs normally [*:28t4qv46]Starts up, goes back to splash, then to navigation menu. Touching where the back button is usually fixes it. [*:28t4qv46]Blank screen, which then can evenutally lead to a radio screen with no title bar, and external buttons don't work.
  11. Yea, its not at every boot. And the SD playback is just as random if its going to work or not. It will play, but the screen won't update or respond, and somehow, the right button pushes seems to get it going.
  12. Oh, I have also noticed with the update that sometimes right after boot, the splash screen will flash onto the screen, then it goes to the navigation menu, and will be unresponsive for a short moment. Then after pushing a button or two, it will take me to the radio screen (being that where it was shut off at), but there is no header bar. But going back to main and forward to radio resolves it.
  13. Upgrade went flawlessly (well, minus me writing down the password wrong). Not a single error. Display looks nice, and touch response is better. Only played with it a little, and was disappointed in the SD playback. It got so bogged down that it became unresponsive to any screen touches, queueing them up, and then performed them all at once when it was ready.

Glad you found out now. I wish I paid better attention to the marketing, because I was (and still am) really disappointed when I found out it didn't control my SD music.
