lonesoui
Hello everyone. I've bought a z2 and going to upgrade my 2000 bmw 528i, just wondering exactly what other parts i need. Do I need an antenna adapter? Should I get the HD radio antenna or do I not need it at all? Do I need a wiring harness? If so which one? I also bought a backup camera and a face plate bezel, do I need a sleeve/cage/iso brackets? I also purchased the PAC-SWI-PS ONLY, is there anything else I need for it? I plan on upgrading the amps/tweeters/speakers/subs in the future, do I need anything else, like aux input adapters? Sorry for the bombardment of questions, I want to get it right the first time without having to remove and install over and over again just because I failed to have everything ready. Thanks alot! silver528
there are a few radio kits available, but not to many and there expensive as far as kits go. I have a d3 in mine and had to cut the air vent in back of the radio. I can send you sum pics if you want to see it

brickbreaker
I would recommend that you go to a BMW 5-series forum and ask there. I have an M3 and e46fanatics and M3forum had a ton of information. Good luck.
DrMatt
I have a AVIC in my 2002 BMW 525i and it looks great. I ordered a kit off of eBay and everything went really smooth. Great install. The kit can be purchased directly from the manufacturer in Germany at the following website: http://www.janus-design.net/english/e39 ... /index.php Of course you can just buy it from their US distributor on eBay. The eBay user ID is: striker1980 You will get a PDF file with full instructions that you can print and give to whoever is doing the install. Make sure that they do it right and take their time. If there are gaps between the cut-out from the AC/heater vent then your AVIC will get too much heat blowing on it in the winter and it will shut down.
DrMatt
Oh and as for the other items: 1. You will need a wiring harness adapter. 2. If you have steering wheel audio controls and you want to continue to use them, you will need an adapter/interface. 3. If you want to take advantage of Sirius Radio or Bluetooth for your cell phone, you will need to buy adapters/units for each. 4. Be careful with upgrading your amp and speakers. Make sure that you get one that is going work all together on the correct OHMS. I think the factory speakers are 2 ohms (may be wrong) and many of the new ones are 4 ohms. Whatever the case may be, just make sure they are all going to work together before you spend a lot of money on the wrong things.
