brickbreaker
Hi there. Updated hd to Z3 and so far so good. I received the Firmware Update from Pioneer today. Insert the disk and it says "CD-ROM inserted" on the bottom left hand corner on the DVD screen. I wait and wait and wait, but nothing. I know I need the update cause the freezing will cost me a new system one day when I accidentally put my fist through the screen. I'm so close that I can taste it.... Please help!!! Thanks. CamelTowing
I thought that disk was only for the Z1 and Z2? Should already be on there if you have a Z3 HD
brickbreaker
Man.... I feel like a dumb*ss. I hope you're correct!
garrettoomey
Camel is definately correct. No need to install the pioneer disc, and the Z3 won't take it anyway
CaptainInsaneO
So WHY are you trying to update twice?
brickbreaker
The weather dropped to balls cold over the last week (a good 30 degree drop) and when I start the car up, the touch screen does not respond for a good 5-10 minutes. Especially annoying on the Map mode when the OK button is there and I can't get it to respond. I figured it was the freeze problem with the Z1 and Z2 so I tried the firmware upgrade. But apparently Z3 you don't need it because it's already upgraded. Does the remote control come with a "Enter" key? Maybe that's one way around it. I noticed that the manual buttons such as volume, ff, rew all seem to work.
garrettoomey
No 'enter' key on the remote for the nav nag screen.
CamelTowing
The manual mentions that it doesn't work in extreme temps
brickbreaker
lol. I never really considered NYC to have extreme weather... So does that basically mean that people north of me (NH, VT, MA, Upstate, Canada and N. Korea) can't use the nav until it warms up?
VBLUE42
N. Korea
CamelTowing
Its cold in N. Korea? Thought it would be warm from all the reactors But your description of 'balls cold' does seem pretty extreme to me
brickbreaker
Yeah, probably a little extreme... That's cause I spent a few months in sunny California and got a little spoiled. I'm sure if you came here now, your system would go into shock as well. My friend just got here from LA and I love it how he tells me that it was sunny and 75 and he can't wait to be back. CaptainInsaneO
I grew up in Alaska and now I live in a suburb of San Diego, and hells yes this bitch spoiled the crap out of me.
