Salcas
#1: Does the Avic D3 come with the iPod wire? ..if so, does it connect to the back or front of the unit? And does it charge the unit while it is connected? ..I know that Pioneer sells a seperate wire to connect to the ipod..thats why its a little confusing..I would like my ipod to be hid away in the glovebox but I also want it charging at the same time.. #2: Does the DVD bypass have to be done before the installation or can it be done when everything is installed? Thanks
madsonp
The iPod cable for the D3 needs to be purchased seperatly. It connects to the back of the unit. Whether or not the iPod charges while it's plugged in depends on the iPod you have. My iPod touch did but my wifes Nano doesn't. The bypass should be done prior to installation otherwise you'll need to pull the unit back out to do it.

Salcas
oh and one more question...does the D3 have a hard drive?
garrettoomey
Only the Z series has a hard drive.
madsonp
You'll want the iPod cable, it plugs into the back of your unit, so you'll want to have it for the install.
svtjackal
you coud do something like this and use the front AUX input on the D3 but it won't charge your Ipod and you won't be able to control the ipod with the D3 touch screen, I did this mostly to get video from my ipod touch to the d3 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/ ... pod001.jpg
