hondakorn
I got a used unit off of ebay from 2ndturn and was listed as working. I located a harness on ebay and it turns out that the harness is not for the d3 but for the d1 or d2. I found the pinout for the d3 and modified the harness accordingly but i get no sound from my stock radio w/ no amp and stock speakers. Currently i dont have the rca harness but its on the way but i dont think that not having the rca harness plugged in would affect sound if im not using an amp anyway..... any suggestions? thx - Corn
hondakorn
actually it looks like there are grounds for the front and rear on the rca harness......maybe bc i dont have the rca harness connected is the reason why im not getting sound...... even though im not using any rca connections. dsteinmann
you dont need the rca harness if your using hi level outs. BUt if you plugged in power when the harness was mis configured you could have blown something

hondakorn
you dont need the rca harness if your using hi level outs. BUt if you plugged in power when the harness was mis configured you could have blown something originally the only thing i had to modify were the positions of the f and r speaker pins they were neg/pos neg/pos and i modified them according to the diagram attached below......pos/neg pos/neg
dsteinmann
someone could have shorted the speaker wires which would most likely blow this part Mosfett Chip IC http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=PAL007C You can verify this if you get sound out of the rca pre outs

I guess its not too big of a deal since i will be running an external amp soon............
dsteinmann
is like 20 or so pins to solder but if your using amps for your front and rears then it wont matter

hondakorn
update, the unit is fully functional.....I went to my friends house who had one installed and he tested it with his car and everything worked! I guess i just have to wait on the correct harness.
