  1. you should be using a harness that has rca's on it instead of the common speaker leads. for example the scosche ta07r harness. I just did one with this harness and the jbl synthesis system and it was cake. And no it's not a good idea to amp. a amp. signal. You'll probably blow everything in your car that way.
  2. i thought that the rf 360 was for integrating into a factory system. Why would you use it when you have the rca out puts on the d3? The 360 converts line level to rcas to run amps. There should be no need for the 360.
  3. i agree, you don't like it ill give you 100 bucks for it. If not, stop complaining! read signature below.
  4. what radio do you have? You can alway look at pioneer.com for the install guide for the radio and it will tell you where the wire is suppose to go or be.
  5. ok, if you say so. i have tried using several of these for customers. They are junk. you would think with all the crying on this web site some one would have been crying about it already. Thats why i said just fo the stand alone tuner for pioneer. Not to mention its double the price of just a tuner box.
  6. the stratus is a stand alone tuner. He is talking about using the pioneer tuner box to hook up to his deck. That pbus adapter works if you are using the universal siruis tuner box not the stand alone tuners for example-stratus,sportster,stilleto understand?
  7. the pbus cable is the cable that hooks up to the deck and the tuner box to be able control from the deck and also gives you the audio. On the back of the deck there is a blue plug different from the rest that you would hook it up to. the siruis tuner box has the same plug, i think it says out to unit or something like that that you hook it to. It is a special cable made for pionner stuff. And yes you do need it to hook up the sirius tuner box to be able to control it through the deck.
  8. Yes you can hook up most mp3 players to the usb input and it will bring up most the info (artsit, song, album). The zune is not suported by the usb connection on just about any aftermarket cd player. i probably do 20-30 pioneer decks with the usb cable a week and everyone has worked with my insignia mp3 player, the only draw back is it doesn't do any video. Now an old installer had a zune and we couldn't get it to work on any brand we plugged into. Just take the harness for the new one and hold it up to the old one and see if all the wiring matches up, if it does you should be good to go.
  9. about the only thing you can use is the antenna. for the box (sir-pnr2) it would hook up to the avic with the p-bus cable to control it, you would also have a power and ground connection to hook up as well. Not a hard install as long as you have the right pieces, but witht he antenna already in the car the hardest part is already done.
  10. wow you payed 2000 for a d3 and the bluetooth adapter that you could have bought from any stereo shop for about 600-800 bucks. sounds like some one should have done more research and bought from a shop that has a return policy. Just my opion but every one ready hates me hear since i tend to use logic and a little common sense.
  11. very well put Mr. Womo! now get prepared because everyone will hate you for sticking up for pioneer. Its simple, don't like sell it and buy another brand. Pioneer is in every country in the world, do you reall think you are keeping them in from going bankrupt? You people are getting as bad as the customers that come in yelling "do you know how much money i have spent here?" then come to find out i personally have spent twice much as them. Things aren't designed for you personally, theres things on my deck i don't like but i deal with it and don't complain on every thread in here. GET USE TO IT
  12. It was indeed the turn on lead like you suggested. I guess in the upgrade to 2.0, it reset those AV settings. I went in and changed the Antenna settings from "Radio" to "Power" (at least I think that's what the menu was labeled) and MP3's now play thats what you wrote, you did not say they switched the wire till your next post. If they switched a wire that yes it was a install issue. Everyone on this site gets so bent out of shape if any one has a different view other than there's.
  13. so if it was the upgrade that changed your settings on the deck for your amp and stuff how would that be a install issue? It really wouldn't be the installers fault that the setting got changed after a software update.
  14. so i'm reading all of these comments about not getting the signal for the sat. radio or it drops in and out and that you are putting them under dash piece and such. Sat antenna should be mounted outside of the car, not inside. I'm pretty sure it says it rate in the install manuals and i know it say's it in the mecp certification book.
