it should work fine. if your still using the harness with the white plug you could even move 2 rca's your not using.

Did you remove the door panels to install some speakers at the same time? Maybe you forgot to plug the switch back in on the door. There shouldnt be any problem with the radio install messing with the doors. Check your fuses and try disconnecting the battery for a minute. also did you use a wire harness there should be a lt. green can bus wire that controlles everything including the Acc. and doors maybe this wire is shorted but if thats the case i think you would have many more problems than just the two. Sounds like you need a wire harness for your audi made by metra or someone that should have the right wires for the sub and rears. I hope you didnt cut off the factory plug for the radio. And no you dont need the RCA harness. And it also sounds like your Red Wire on the AVIC is hooked up to a contastant 12v not a switched acc thats why it wont turn off with the key.

I JUst got mine working i took it apart again and flipped the cd rom over and it started updating and reads fine now i also did a eject and reset dont rember if that helped or not but i think its a laser adjustment. it read all types fine before just not the nav disc's so ...

is like 20 or so pins to solder but if your using amps for your front and rears then it wont matter

you dont need the rca harness if your using hi level outs. BUt if you plugged in power when the harness was mis configured you could have blown something

I Have a D3 that wont read the real 07 nav disc or a burned 08 its not in a car but on a bench and just the parking brake is grounded do i need to do the other bypass for it to update the maps or does it need a gps antenna? Also is just pushing the reset button all thats needed to reset the unit or do i have to hold it down for a while to get a full reset or something?

ok i burned the disc. I put it in the one that was reading the 07 disc and it said update failed then i tried the origanl and the burned disc in the other one and it says please insert appropaite disc any i deas why the orignal wont read in the other unit i may try to reburn it again and see what happens with the other but any ideas thanks

OK i have 2 D3s im currently downloading the new 80t's but i have one RED Navigation Disc It says for D3 West Ver 1.0 When i try it in the other unit it says please insert correct disc. Why Does it say this is it on a newer version or something and when i put in these 80's does it download any software? Not sure if this is some kind of demo disc, But i do have a Different D3 Demo disc and it says demo disc. Just wondering cause when i put it in the unit that takes it it ask about a store or demo mode also? Thanks
