Does the 700bt actually say the street name instead of turn in 500 ft? I thought it did but mine does not and I can't find any info on the unit that says it does.

Yes change the voice to TTS english symantha in the settings, it will explain how to do this in the manual. this should of been the default, I am assuming your current voice is a male? Jason? He just says turn right in 500 feet? It's called text to speech, and the female is the only one who has this, in english that is.

if an EU version it should come with a CD-Rom with those TTS voices on it (mine did)

I have an AVIC F700BT, and mine did not come with any CD other than the manual. I was looking at that but wasn't sure and the manual was not clear on it at all. I wonder what else this thing will do the the manual is not clear on??

I assume when he asked what deck, he was referring to europeon or north american, you already stated you had an f700bt.

 

If you don't have the voice for symantha english tts available in the language list, I think its available via the download page at pioneers site from the firmware updates.

 

Check there to download it and install, that is if you have the usa version but im assuming you dont, as the symantha voice is the default one to my knowledge.

I was able to go into the menus and select Samantha and it know tells the street names, thanks. I assumed it is a USA unit, just figured since it was bought in the US it was a USA unit, even though it's made in China!
