techronics.com AVIC-D2 purchase

Recommended Posts

has anyone ever dealt with this merchant? they have the D2 for $768 with free shipping. i called them up and ask if they were refurbs but he said they are brand new sealed.

do you think i should get my D2 from them? one thing that strikes me as odd is that they have the D1 for more than the D2..

please help! looking to purchase this unit very soon!!

I just looked and they had the D1 new for $858. The refurb is only $668. The D2 was $688 which is lower than the retail D1. I am not sure if you were comparing the refurb D1 to the new D2 or not? They have the Z1 for about $1650 which is low. As for buying from them I have no experience but they seem like any other place that offers electronics at low prices. If it is new and a Pioneer authorized dealer then I dont see any reason not to get it from them. Personally I spent some extra $$ at Crutchfield and used the 15% off coupon with 3 or more components. Having the support from them is always a plus. I got the Z1, Bluetooth adapter, iPod adapter, TV tuner and Navtraffic with free shipping and no tax for about $2225. Considering the retail of the Z1 being $2250, that is a steal IMO.

so the unit will also have the pioneer warranty?

what's the difference between pioneer warranty and the reseller's warranty?

i meant why is the D2 cheaper than the new D1 on this site? i heard this site uses bait and switch tactics. they do offer their own 1 yr warranty. i might just buy mine from the ebay seller listed above.
i got one from the same ebay guy above. It is brand new and he shipped it very fast. The box was factory sealed. It was $689 total for D2. I did the "Make your Offer" deal.
Wow you're lucky. I just bought it from this guy:

I bought mine from Hi Fi audio also. very fast shipping and good price but unfortunately mine was damaged. The control knob on the lower left side was broken off. We'll see how long it is going to take to get a replacement or my money back. I am betting a month or 2. I’ll keep u posted because in my book that’s how you can tell a good merchant from a bad one.

just got mine from hifiaudio on ebay. everyone here said that it came brand new SEALED from this seller. however, my box or unit wasn't sealed in any way? what seal are you guys talking about?

also, is there a website out there that can check whether your unit is refurb, remanuf, etc. by the serial #?

hmm, i inspected the unit further..the UPC on the D2 doesn't match the UPC on the box. but the serial# sticker on the unit matches the one on the box..but it's just stickers..

don't know if this is normal or not. really not feeling too confident about this purchase as being new anymore..

also no plastic film to protect the LCD screen..one would expect a new unit to have one.
