rodja
Hi Guys 2 questions: 1.) I have a AVIC-D2 that was made in August 2006, will there be a problem bypassing it to play video and use NAV functions while driving then a unit built before February 2006... whats the difference 2.) If I can still bypass it that same way is this what I have to do (view picture) I heard from my friend that there was a factory bypass that if you turn the headlights on and off 3 times it will let you bypass the locks on the AVIC-D2.... anyone have any info if this works? JasonH
The headlight flash is for the Z1. All you have to do for the D1/2 is ground the wires like the picture shows.
Builder
and noticed on the modular connector where your suppose to add a wire next to the yellow wire, the connector has no metal pin contact. Have you guys just been sticking a wire in there hoping it makes contact to the pin on the head unit?
Builder
Disregard I see now everyone is using an unused wire and pin contact and moving it to the correct slot.

fearziz
he may have an ipod. the bypass will allow nav features and a/v playback while driving. curious, but where did you get the spare wire from? I plan on doing the bypass next week. Also, did you ground to metal or did you get a wire "loop" thingy to ground with?
