foreverbfc
Hello everyone: I'm in the process of choosing between the AVIC f700 and the D3: I would go with the D3 but I hate the fact that you have to have the disc in the drive in order to work the GPS maps... Is there a way around this? Has anyone loaded the maps on a USB or SD card? Thanks.
josney
you still get scaled down information without the Nac disc in. it hasn't been an issue for me. Mine is never out anyway. I am either listening to XM or my POD, never CD's
BuffaloSS
You can set your home area to a 10sq. mi. block, from which it will retain information when the disc is removed. Also, when you plan a trip, you can remove the disc and it will remember the entire trip, plus 3-5mi to either direction, just in case you get off track, or stop off for gas or something to eat. As the last poster mentioned...I rely on XM and MP3 audio, so I don't have an issue with the disc being in at all times.
JacobStowers
Have to agree with the top two posters. I never take out my NAV disc unless I am playing music videos, or DVD's. But either grab a D3 or what for the new systems to come out and see what new stuff Pioneer has to offer.
