xcrider32183 Posted October 31, 2006 Report Share Posted October 31, 2006 im new to this forum and i would like to know if you guys could help me out ... i just had my d1 installed but the green wire (it says brake on it) is not connected to anything. my question is: my navi wont allow me to search by address poi etc.. most of my destination options are grayed out.. is this because the brake wire isnt hooked up??? or could this be something else?? Your parking brake not only needs to be grounded but you also need to remove the cell phone mute wire from your AVIC-D2 harness and then insert it into the empty spot on the AVIC-D2 harness and then also ground that wire. Both groundings can easily be accomplished by using squeeze clips (like those included for connected the VSS and reverse wires) and connected the wires to the main ground wire on the AVIC-D2 harness.
