wrxphantom Posted July 7, 2009 Report Share Posted July 7, 2009 Hi everyone. i have an f90bt premier with 2.0 installed from factory that just today stopped working. all i get when i turn on my car is the map, menu and eject buttons light up for 4-5 seconds and then shut off. The screen doesn't turn on at all no boot screen or anything. Things I have tried: - reboot - checked the 10amp fuse on rear of unit. still good - checked all wiring on rear of unit all secure - hard reset - regular rest - tried to install 2.006 update from sd card. still nothing (screen stayed black all the time for 10 min) - checked radio fuse its good - tried to enter test mode. never worked screen stays black.. Anything i can do i searched the forums and tried just about everything Anyone know of something i can do to revive my unit I live in brooklyn, NY if that helps. I have a laptop and (mac) and a transfer cable. please anyone if you know of any file i should download or something to try please help. thanks in advanced. If you can then most likely the rear camera automajicaly turned on. It has happened to alot of people. If you can get the screen to finally display anything try to get to the setting for rearview camera and turn it back off. If you do a rearch for the camera turning on there are a couple of threads dealing with it. Good luck Quote Link to post Share on other sites

dragon24 Posted July 9, 2009 Report Share Posted July 9, 2009 1) first your going to have to find the F90BT backup & the Testmode Downloads... 2) Then your gonna have to buy two 2GB SD cards. 3) Put the testmode SD card in your radio & turn your car on 4) once in to testmode you have to reformat the flash memory 5) once that is done copy over the full 2.0 Backup to the newly formated flash memory 6) Make sure you do this on your day off because it took me about 90 minites 7) make sure to keep all the the SD card someplace safe.... Just in case it happens agains. All this is done with the car running. If not your battery will die. The unit will still turn the option on by itself. There are many peeps here that have had the unit turn the rearview camera on and they did not have one installed either. If you do a search for blank screen or black screen at boot up you should find the fix. Someone has the button combo that got the screen to show the main menue.
