3.0 Upgrade failed (reboot loop) & lost my 2.0 backup
minifreezer replied to revsteve's topic in Hacks/Mods
do a search for turboss on this forum. It is an ftp site that hosts 2.0 backups for the f-series -
Install went fine, but now i have a reboot prob. Its strange, if my first phone call i make after boot up is made useing VR the system will reboot, and if i try after reboot using VR it will reboot again. Now if i make a call useing the contacts screen for the first phone call there are no probs and i can ure VR after that. I just cant ure VR to make the first phone call after the system starts up. I do not have an ipod so i cnat try the VR on that to see if it reboots. Any suggestions would be helpful. P.S. I have tried updateing the BT software.

Yes to every question you have. Just read the hacks thread, there is more info on anything you want to do including reverting back to 2.0. I have the hacked 3.0 and about to downgrade back to 3.0 so i can install my legit version of 3.0 that i have ordered. Just been waiting for the password webpage to come back online..

3.0 Retail, Official, Legit install experience
minifreezer replied to Wrathernaut's topic in General
Cant sell it to you. You will not be able to install it. Once you put in the codes and have Pioneers web site generate your key that media code for the sd cards are now locked to the unit code that the original person provided to pioneer. Now if you can hack it more power to ya. -
What? Really that is what you got to say you inconsiderate douche. He posted in the x-series, so my guess you retard is that it is for the x-series. Also this whole forum only deals with AVIC made by Pioneer so do some of your own work and go to Pioneer's web page and look for yourself. But no your feeble little mind can't do that so you just call someone a moron because of your own shortcomings and not wanting to do anything for yourself. You know if you ask anyone on this forum i am a nice guy, never insult anyone and usually do not respond to idiotic post like this, but your post my f

You are probably going to be ok. I did the hacked version of 3.0 and formatted myflashdrive during the wince upgrade and it kept my custom splash screen.

NAV Acting Weird When Sitting Still...
minifreezer replied to enkrypt3d's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
The 30 sec wait should be because the gps is getting a signal. The scrolling through the 2d, Nup, and 3d to get what you want should not be happening. It should stay on the view you left it in when you tuned off the car. I wonder if you got a bad install and maybe reinstalling the software will fix that. -

NAV Acting Weird When Sitting Still...
minifreezer replied to enkrypt3d's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
Sorry just found out that the option i was talking about was in 2.0. I noticed when i had 2.0 my nav wuld act weired when stopped and then when i selected the snap to road option or always on road (can't remember the exact name) it stoped dong that. I am work right now and rode my bike or i ould go outside and try to find out if the option is still in 3.0. The waypoints you should be able to press the map button to get rid of it. As far as i know the way point is the last place you were at between power cycles. -
is there a way on the nav to find out where beer stores are
minifreezer replied to hanibal's topic in General
do a POI search and type the name of the store. I have also typed in what i was looking for and the unit gave me stores that had it. -
Mine does that too. Someone explained to me why, but can't remember the whole explanation. Anyways it has to do with the timezone, but the unit does not really "think" you are in idaho. Make no damn since to me and Pioneer definatly should have fixed that.

What causes a fuse to blow is too much amperage draw. This could be cause by a short (voltage straight to ground without anything providing a voltage drop), high resistance (bad connection causing the system to work harder and demanding more), or the system itself could have a component in it that is bad (shorted). When does the fuse blow? If it blows as soon as you turn the key then probably you have a short. Could be the insulation chaffed and now you have bare wire touching ground (anything metal that is bolted to the chassis), or the system itself is bad. Probably wiring though. I

A different (location specific) F series re-boot problem...
minifreezer replied to dz's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
I had the same issue after i had updated to the 2008.4 maps. i had had a corrupted file so i had to DL the maps again and then delet and re-copy them back to my avic and that fixed the reboot for me at a specific location. BTW i also deleted and reinstalled the POI's for good measure. Hope this helps you.
