ill.die.trying
Yes it is still necessary to ground the parking brake wire to have the bypass work with the software bypass. Disagree, I have the F910BT (EW version of the X910BT) and I only editted the pioneer.ini file , no wire changes at all, and now I have full nav features and video playback whilst in motion. well that just means that your p brake wire is already grounded
TimboZero
Were it true that my parking brake was 'already grounded' then how would you explain that prior to the softmod , when I lowered the brake the video stops and when I raised it it resumed ? I did the AVIC install myself and can assure you all that the parking brake wire is connected correctly (to the switched side , not the ground side) of the parking brake. Man
I'll add my two cents for the record. I had a new X910BT (version 3.0101) installed and decided to bypass it. First I tried just the software mod and that didn't work. Then I grounded the green wire to the parking brake switch and that worked. So in my case I had to.
VBLUE42
The parking brake wire has to be grounded with the soft mod in order for it to work properly. You may be getting it to work for now but it will fail soon if that wire is not grounded.
