w4rh4wk
I'm a fellow 01 mustang GT owner... they all came with double not single DIN setup. I havent installed a pioneer headunit in the mustang ...YET but this guy has lol. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=25003&p=169820&hilit=+mustang#p169820 Its a cobra but its the same setup. Just make sure you order the appropriate wiring harness (for premium sound system setup or the non premium sound).

1loudls
you could get a dash trim out of a 01+ from a junk yard for cheap and see if it will fit in your 00 or under with a little cutting, if all else fails get the whole dash out of a wrecked pony and swap all the components nothing is impossible, its just how bad ($$$) do you want it.
