Why don't we all pool together 6 people to pay $10 each, have one of us contributed the other $60 to buy the discs from Pioneer and send burnt copies to everyone that chipped in?

Im in for that. We all pull in, have one person throw in the other $60 OR we can get like 20 people throw in $10 and someone can Torrent it for the rest of us.

Well, the reason I said the 6 x $10 + $60 method is that the person buying it gets to keep the originals. It wouldn't seem fair if the person keeping the originals only paid $10 like everyone else. Just my 2 cents.

Well lets start the group buy. I got my $10. All we need is 6 people BUT who will be the one to dish out the $60??? I think it should be a reliable person who as well knows how to throw up a torrent.

It doesn't even have to be $60....it can be $50 + 7 x $10, etc....depending on how many people there are (I was just throwing out an example).

Either way, you can count me in for the $10. I don't know enough about torrents to be the front man.

I can throw the torrent up. Torrent works best if there are more then one seeding, or is some one can do the FTP it would be better.

I don't care about keeping the original so I don't want to shell out the extra money. I modify mine once I get it. :)

The idea is to keep it minimal for everyone and sharing.

I have a paypal but never recieved money just sent money. Does it work different? Does it have charges for incoming money? Any one know?

Hope you can tolerate a newbie - I've not used Torrent, can you point me to a good FAQ? I mostly use a mac but also have pc's in the house. I've had my AVIC-D3 since it came out, in a Suzuki SX4, did the brake override. It's worked great 99.9% of the time. I look forward to the needed map updates.

Yes, there is a charge to receive money through PayPal unless you have special business accounts setup with them.

IMO- having the person that spends more then burn copies is not only a pain but pricey. The DL discs are not cheap and are very slow to burn. It would be better to post a Torrent and we can copy it.

I agree let's do that. Anyone who pitches in will need to know how to Torrent and burn the ISO.

Anyone have a special business through Paypal?

Here is the payment schedule from Paypal.

* PayPal Charges Sellers 1.9% to 2.9%. PayPal will only charge you to receive funds. Using a special surcharge formula, PayPal will bill you whenever you receive a payment from a buyer.

Paypal Fee Table:

1. For receiving transfers under $3000 USD: the fee is 2.9% + $0.30 USD.

2. For receiving transfers $3000.01 to $10,000: the fee is 2.5% + $0.30 USD.

3. For receiving transfers $10,000.01 to $100,000: the fee is 2.2% + $0.30 USD.

4. Receiving transfers over $100,000: Paypal charges 1.9% + $0.30 USD.
