freedumb
Just thought I would bring this back up to the top rather than start a new thread. This one has a lot of good info. I'm having the same problems as the previous poster on a new X920BT (sounds like wind, etc when I speak, but the other person sounds fine). My mic is in the driver's A-pillar.This problem seems to have appeared with a recent "upgrade" of a Blackberry Curve 8330 to a Curve (or Curse, as I like to call it) 8530. I don't think there were ever any problems with the 8330. Here are things I've tried: - Latest firmware for the X920BT (app version 2.002) - Latest Blackberry OS - Un-pairing/re-pairing - Tried with phone's bluetooth volume at max (set while in-call, mr. dawgbone ), and at minimum, with echo control on the unit on and off - Adjusting my amp's gain all the way down - Restoring factory settings on the AVIC - Turning off encryption and echo control on the Blackberry - When the Blackberry is muted, the noise stops (unfortunately, so does everything else) - Calling Pioneer (what a joke). Don't waste your time with this one... - Googling - Crackberry forums - Ritual sacrifice, bribery, threatening. The Blackberry and AVIC ignored all attempts. Anyone else have experience with a Blackberry 8530 with any model AVIC?
dawgbone
Try an IPhone.... Just because this unit is pretty IPhone/IPod oriented.... Not trying to persuade you to an IPhone....but if you can...just try it
Cwolfey
as you read I have same issues.. I paired my friends Droid and it was fine!

dianebrat
FWIW I just replaced an F700BT with an X920BT, and the first thing I heard from friends was that the Bluetooth sound was not as clear, it was as loud, but not as clear, I went back to the F700 mic as a test, it was a tiny bit better, but they still are complaining. It's good enough to use, but a disappointment.
rcs72
I had the same problems with my BB Tour. I just replaced with Droid 2 and now everyone can here me great with no background noise. I think some people are having the problem because of the BB.
Phildog33
Hey guys I have a z110bt installed in my Subaru outback. I've put 3 layers of dynamat and sound deadening liner all over my car, and the sound system is high end and great quality. I installed a z110 about 6 months ago, and the mic quality has always been terrible. Even when the engine is off and not moving, still sounds like a wind tunnel. I've tried steering column, drivers A pillar corner, drivers visor and center above rear view mirror. All have had terrible noise and waterfall sounds for the other person listening to my call. I just ripped the mic cable trying to move it around. So what was the consensus.. Parrot double mic, Garmin mic or factory with flex tape around it? Please help, the past 6 months no location has helped - always sounded terrible P
dawgbone
Try to pair a different brand phone.... It doesn't solve your problem, but at least you'll know the cause... Some are seeing that it's actually the phone that isn't playing nice with the Avic... I'm perfectly happy with the stock Avic mic in the A-pillar, using an IPhone

dawgbone
Well, it doesn't sound like they touched on anything relating to BT sound quality... http://avic411.com/
Dysan911
Will the update work on any other Avic? Like the 700BT?

Newman
Will the update work on any other Avic? Like the 700BT? The F700, F900, F90, X710, and X910 have different software and have their own specific updates. This one does not apply to them.
