yakko31 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Share Posted October 27, 2009 Hi yesterday i read a post were it says that if your going to upgrade a new hard drive with the z3 files and maps it's not necessary to unlock it. only if your doing the upgrade on your original hard drive that came with your z1 that one has to be unlocked. only asking because iam ready to do upgrade i purchased a 60gig hd new and i thought that i had to unlock it first. so all i have to do is disable security expand the msv and load the virgine files hope those are the steps can some one confirm just need to know to be sure thank's everyone and keep up the good work Quote Link to post Share on other sites
CaptainInsaneO Posted October 27, 2009 Report Share Posted October 27, 2009 That's correct. As long as the drive hasn't been inserted into the head unit yet, you don't need to unlock it, just disable security on the drive so it doesn't get locked by the HU. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
