Optamix
I'm installing my old D3 into my dads Chevy 1500 with On Star. I got all the wirring parts in from Crutchfield. I wired everything up and connected it before installing the radio in the dash. Everything worked when I connected the battery. I turned the truck off, installed the radio and put the dash back together. Nothing worked when I turned it on. I assumed one of the wires had come loose when cramming them in(not a lot of room back there). So today I pulled it out, soldered all the wires and plugged it back up. Presto, it came on. I was setting the radio stations for him and it just turned off again. No pops or blown fuses. It just turned off and won't turn back on. I'm baffled. Any ideas? Optamix
Posting the answer for anyone searching for this. After working with the Crutchfield tech it turned out to be a faulty on star adapting box, we got a new one and it works like a charm.
