lil_z_33
I dont use my navigation that much, but out of curiousity, if I got the pioneer 6 dvd changer, would the map disc work out of that??? If not, it aint a big a deal, I just hate the idea of having to put the map disc into the headunit everytime I wanna use it....I know if I had a cd/dvd changer, I could leave the navigation disc in the headunit at all times, but then I would have to have the cd/dvd changer mounted somewhere that would be accessible from the driver seat...any comments/ideas welcome!!! sportsfan21
As far as I know the navigation DVD will not work from the changer, but I've been wrong before.
whtcrxghst
It will not
jimmy303
What kind of car and which head unit do you have? I'm assuming it's an N1/2/3, if you need to leave the disc in.
lil_z_33
yeah its an N3...when I do get the changer, it will be the 6 dvd/cd changer that pioneer recently released...
jimmy303
What kind of car is an N3?
jimmy303
Never mind, I found your other post and apparently it is an '02 Civic. You should have a double-din opening if you get a bit crafty with how you mount the trim rings. Put both pieces in the dash and - voila! - problem solved.
lil_z_33
i drive an 00 altima SE...not a civic... Â it does have a double din opening...i was considering not mounting it there as it would not have a removable face i assume...dont wanna leave my stuff in the site of theives...the avic n3 is great once you take the faceplate off...you see the flashing red light and its all dark, almost stock-like... Â when I do get the dvd player, i may consider mounting it the cd holder located in the arm rest...its definitely deep enough, and slightly wider then a cd case...it may work and would be very stealth...other possibilities include inside the glove compartment or maybe under one of the front seats...who knows, but it most likely will not be mounted under the avic headunit... jimmy303
Your other post says you're looking for the VSS in a Civic. Someone told you to drop the tranny? Different car or did you need the VSS for your Altima?
lil_z_33
i know what post you are speaking of...that was not me posting about the civic...i do not own a civic, nor have I owned one in the past, nor will I own one in the future...I may have posted in that thread, but again, not about a civic... jimmy303
Well, the XDV-P6 has worked fine for me standing upright in an '05 Expedition, though I moved it last month to a horizontal position. You should be able to stick that thing anywhere except under the car.
lil_z_33
cool...thats the type of answer I was looking for...I most likely will be placing it in the flip up armrest/cd holder...
