I want to go with the Z1100BT but just curious, can I use the previous hookups from my D3 and just plug them into my Z1100BT? Or do I need to redo all the wiring? derk Posted March 19, 2010 Report Share Posted March 19, 2010 I have a D3 and tried an F series a year back, while the main harness was the same some of the wires did not seem to be the same so I had to change the wires on the harness. It's also true the GPS antenna differs, I did not know you could change the connector so I re-ran the wire. I could use my HD radio module but the other items for the D3 were not compatible. Good luck, it appears upgrading from the aged D3 is worth while. I still stuck with my D3 due to the slow F factor. I'd love to hear from X D3 owners who have up graded to the Z110BT and how they like it. I remember paying about $700 for my D3 when it was the only thing out there and today you can get a Z110BT for a little over $750. Is it faster and more refined then the new X series that replaced the F series? Is Pioneer going to come out with a model above the Z110BT, I'm not talking about a Z120BT either but something even higher in the line? What about Premier units? Or is this Z110BT the replacement for the Z3 or old top of the line complete? Quote Link to post Share on other sites
CamelTowing Posted March 19, 2010 Report Share Posted March 19, 2010 The bigger screen in addition to the bluetooth,ipod and voice recognition improvement alone makes the Z110 worth it if you will use those features. Startup is a little slower than the D3 because its flash based and you will lose telephone search and the POI logos. Buts its defintiely faster than the F/X series There won't be anything more high end this year other than the Z120.
