free_refil
Ya, I'd use a front end software to run DiVx files, etc..., and of course MP3's. It'd be great to have this storage medium available on the AVIC's.
PaisanNYC
Seems kinda expensive to have a carputer or mac mini solely for larger storage. The Vantec Avox is awesome. I have mine with the 120GB harddrive, and it plays DiVX, DVD Rips, WMV, MP3, WAV, WMA, jpgs, etc. Check out the other posts via search to find out more, or just ask me on here! 350zx6r
Has anyone tried this? I believe I have all the parts needed except the cables and I wanted to give it a try but only if works. I wanna be able to use the internet and have the extra storage for video/music.
jgx
Yes, I have a mac mini connected to my Z1. I'm using the apple dvi to composite adapter. Text is obviously not that great, but movies look amazing. I'm using the included Front End software. I also have wireless high speed internet using a Sprint EVDO card with a Kyocera 802.11 adapter and an external amp and antenna mounted in the trunk. I use that to stream slingbox/Tivo to my Z1. I can access all my TiVo recordings plus my entire 200+ channel line up live. Once again, trying to use it to display text isn't that great, but video looks great.
