avic411fan
I'm about to have the Z120BT installed, and since I have no usability experience with iPod in the car, just wondering if people would recommend installing the iPod cable in the center console or the glove compartment? I was thinking the glove compartment earlier but it is hard to reach from the driver's seat, and if it's in the console I have to open and close it by flipping the big cover which is inconvenient, so I'm really torn! random1
I'd go glove compartment, you can control the iPod via the Z120, and to some extent via steering wheel controls, if you have them. Also, I'm probably going to just keep an iPod in the glove compartment to have my whole library on hand all the time. The cable is longish anyway, I can easily leave my iPhone connected and in a little compartment I have under the unit with the cable coming out of the glove compartment. Not the prettiest, but it works for me...
rgarjr
either location is fine, its just a matter of preference.

He just wants to hear a couple of opinions before he starts cutting holes and running wires... So what was your preference?
Robert Hodgen
If you've got a spare iPod to leave in the car I'd go with the glovebox. If you plan on using your iPhone think about putting it somewhere more accessible. I personally used the glovebox with a spare iPhone that doesn't have service. avic411fan
Thanks for the feedback, and yes I do have an iPhone and iPod that I will switch back and forth with, depending on the content that I'd like to listen to, so finding a convenient location is key. I wonder if anyone else is in similar dilemma.
Thresher
I ran my cable to the center console because I switch from my iPod to an external drive often. If you foresee yourself wanting to make a change while at a stop light, I would go center console.
