Haha-NO
Hello and thanks for stoppin in and reading. At the begining of march i purchased my first double din, the avh series. I installed it all without a hitch (except for accidently keeping the ground on when i turned the car off and on causing only audio to be heard and no video) Anways, the picture quality on the AVH was pretty darn good. So with that being done, i decided i would put an even better radio (i just bought the newest most expensive radio, not sure how much "better" it is yet) the AVIC Z130BT. I installed everything correctly, and began to play with the nav, music, and settings. I decided to connect my iphone, i bought the IU50V cable to ensure i didnt have any problems connecting and listening/ viewing media. When the video came up i noticed it appears like its an old VHS tape and has alot of static and scrolling lines on the screen. This also happens when i attempt to view a DVD video. It just looks like there is noise all over the screen. When im not in VIDEO mode and use the nav, or radio functions the picture is crystal clear. Its only when i play my own videos that this noise comes out on the screen. Im wondering if i grounded something incorrectly or if there is a setting i need to play with. If needed i can have a video of what im talking about later. Thanks for any help in advanced, AL edit: Well the video does no justice. Damn sony cam makes it look better than it does lol. It kind of seems like the screen cannont reproduce all the colors for the movie? Am i just used to watching my Flat screens in hd? lol. I played with the brightness, contrast, and color temps/hues and it does appear to be a bit better, but i still think without even having to touch the settings my AVH player looks better =-\ any info with the 110/120 users? Haha-NO
well, I disconnected the hd tuner to make sure it wasnt giving any electromagnetic disturbance, unplugged the mic, gps, RCAs, ups dongle and made sure my ground connection was solid. Booted up, and the pioneer screens look flawless, but I still have some shitty picture quality for DVD and my hd iPhone videos.. It looks worse than a boss or Pyle screen to me to be honest. I said last night, fuck it I don't watch movies in the car anyway but then woke up and said why did I pay so much for a shitty screen. Does anyone think it may be defective? Avh4200dvd blows my screens picture out of the water I don't know what you expected. The Z1x00 resolution (800x480) isn't much higher resolution than an old Standard Definition TV and nowhere near the number of pixels of even "enhanced" definition DTV (1280x720), let alone real HD (1920x1024). Expect about the quality you'd get playing a DVD on your old CRT TV. I tried a few DVDs on mine just now. OK, if I bought this unit to watch movies, I'd be disappointed. But is wasn't too bad. I found it varied from DVD to DVD. It looked better on ones that weren't extremely wide-screen. I think that is because even though it is a 16x9 display, the pixel WxH ratio is actually somewhere between 16x9 and 4x3. So the pixel display ratio isn't square like an HDTV. Killer Rc
I wonder if it would help if you had the new CD-IU51V cable?

Haha-NO
That's not normal. That's what i thought. How can the avic look worse than the avh. It really looks like im watching a movie on a screen that isnt able to reproduce the colors correctly. You know what a good way i should put it is. I can see alot of artifacts. I used the same movies in the AVH as i did the AVIC. AVH just looks so crisp. It looks like an old CRT TV that someone mentioned earlier. the AVIC just seems like its not up to par. i dunno
Since2005
I have the same problem. When trying to watch Netflix, the image keeps running off the screen. And, there is no image at all when trying to watch videos or YouTube. My CD-IU51V cable is brand new. I'm thinking my is defective too. i'm sure an update is needed on mine. X920bt, but its just until the video actually starts playing then it looks good for what it is, it happens with Ipod and DVD when the screen goes black just fore the video starts. I have triple checked my wiring and all connections are twisted and sodered and taped and shrink wrapped. I am using the ground in the wiring harness, maybe that has something to do with it? I thought this might be the way they all are between Video inputs.
