phillys4
I just had the z120bt installed in my Audi B5 S4 today and I love it. Everything is works great , but the radio. The unit was pulled out to check if the antenna and was plugged in like it should be, and it was. I want to ask anyone on here to help me out. The radio works but loses signal really fast and very often like every 20-30 ft. (seriously too). I am curious if Audi has this antenna as an amplified one. Or maybe it's the way the antenna wire in folded behind the unit that can cause this problem. Please chime in and help me out!! Thanks in advance!!
JasonH
Most European cars use a powered antenna or a diversity antenna setup that needs a special adapter to get good reception. My new VW has a dual plug diversity antenna, but seems to work ok with a single powered adapter. Brett3rThanU
Yep, you probably have an amplified antenna. I had to connect the blue wire from the Pioneer harness (which also goes to an external amplifier) to a specific wire in my car. I just tapped into it. Luckily I was able to find the wire from a GTO forum.
NFrazier
You need the amplified antenna adapter, if the shop didn't know that I'm scared.
