APL2/iGO/Content/MAP I'm halfway thruogh downloading the US maps as soon as I have all of them I will extract them all to a folder on my desktop and switch them out with the EW maps on the backup files...I have them already extracted to an SD card. then I will let you all know. nitronick Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 6, 2011 Well, Everything was looking good....got all the Maps,Poi's and DEMs swapped over removed all EW Maps followed the instructions....got everything started....watched as is was loading everything....it got just past the POI's and threw an error of not enough space leftand to delete items to make space. So I shut it down took the SD car back in and put it in my PC and deleteted the EW POI's and tried again....it got further but did the same thing...so I went back in and deleted the EW buildings and quite a few EW langauges I left UK english,AU english and Spanish. went back out tried again but this time it will not start up in testmode it just throws the pioneer screen and restarts every 20-30 seconds but looks like it's trying to read the SD i'm getting the bluetooth light flashing. I went back in and deleted the 2.3 testmode from my SD card and extracted it on again. I tried clearing the SD card completly and re-extracting the EW backup files and changing only what I did the 2nd time to no avail. I'm kinda stuck here anybody have any Ideas? Only thing I think I might have done different was not removing the SD card before shutting of the key not sure if I did or not. I even tried to load testmode 2.3 onto an SD by itself figuring if I could get it into testmode then swap cards I might be alright....nope! This thing is bumming me out! (checked again and now it shows pioneer sceen..the bluetooyh light flashes 3 times them it shuts down....blacked out brick) Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I took the original 3.0 DL loaded it up and it got me back into testmode once there I swapped SD to the EW backup files and did the EW copy/paste and again it warned of not enough disk space...so I popped the SD back in the PC and slashed and burned the US POI's the EW Voices,Buildings and POI's...put it back in copy/paste ect....this time it did not warn of free space so I let her rip....it loaded up everything. I followed the instructions...remove SD card,shut off car...with car off install 2nd SD card and restart car.Well it brought up the Update screen in red and was "file searching" for over 30 min. and in the lower bar it said incorrect information on SD/USB! so close! So right now it will start up to main menu but the system start up bars stays on. The radio/CD works but it restarts after 2-5 mins it allows me access to the settings and shows ver, 3.0 but it won't go to GPS/maps it just gives the Nav warning screen and it shuts down. Right now I'm re-downloading the update from the EW backup files thread to see if I somehow corrupted the original while loading and unloading these SD cards. Any other Ideas? was it ok to remove all of the POI's,Buildings,Language and Voices? Thanks Again Chris, I was very close to placing this unit gently under a bus tire! Chris Ok, I did not re format the SD card before switching over from the old 3.0 to the pioneer update.I did rename and rar the EW files. I give the reformat a try. I give the reformat a try. Nick I reformated the SD and reloaded the update on it and am still getting "incorrect software on SD/USB" is there another update I should be using? Ok, the answer was right in front of me the whole time I was really stuck on the EW backup files...I reallized after looking thru the US 3.0 files from my original botched uddate that all of the maps,lang,voice,poi's...ect. were right there...so I followed the same procedure for the EW install...format,copy/paste ect. Huge Thanks to Chris ya kept me going! and everyone else on this forum! Now....should I install the dafiata's mod? It's ready to load on an SD. The instructions say to reboot THEN remove the SD card. I want to be clear and not cause myself another situation. Reboot simply means turn the key off then restart correct? Thanks again! Quote Link to post Share on other sites

And just follow his instructions. Remember to keep that copy of 'my flash disk' safe in case you ever want to go back to the original firmware. And reboot means restart! That tiny little reset button just returns all your settings to factory default. If I'd realised you still had all the files from your US version3 you'd have been up & running days ago! Well done again! Chris. Thanks! Much better...I went from version 1.0 to 3.0 and WOW! Now I push the touch screen and it actually does something almost right away no more lag! It seems to boot up faster aswell. I will try the Diaftia mod tonight. I made a back up of my flash disk already. Thanks for all the help Chris!
