jmauceri
I had a AVIC-D2 installed in my 2007 Corvette and I'm having a wierd problem. Even at the lowest settings the chimes and voice guidance are way too loud. I think the installer connected the D2 to the factory amp. Could that be the problem? Thanks for any help. tillithz
yes. but likely thats the way it needs to be installed if you dont want to replace the speakers and amps
jmauceri
The stock speakers won't work with the D2's amp? FYI - I don't have a Bose.
jhoglesr
I'm not sure where I read it but I understand that on some newer GM models you have to adjust the radio volume before you remove the radio because it controls the amp and the amp remembers the setting . If the volume was high the OEM amplifier will be permanently set to high . This would affect all audio from your unit . Sorry , this info is incorrect Please see following post . cntrylvr79
It only remembers the fade/balance and eq settings. The actuall volume is not remembered.

cntrylvr79
No big, just trying to make sure everyone has the right info. Just incase it happens to someone else.
jmauceri
So I'm still not clear. Do I need to get all new speakers if we bypass the factory amp and just use the D2 internal amp? I could understand that for the Bose system, but I thought I'd be OK with the base system.
cntrylvr79
If the base system still has an amp in it then yea.
wpageabc
If you have a chime module there is a screw that allows adjusting volume of the audible. On my 06 H3 with peripheral adapter the chime mod has a small screw that allows this feature.
cntrylvr79
I don't think he's talking about that chime. I think he means the noise when you hit the buttons on the avic.
jimmy303
I've had this happen if someone uses the Bose interface in a non-Bose system before. Make sure the interface does not have the suffix 'B' in the model number. It may be on your reciept.
