Questions about Z1 update and bypass

Hey every one!I just got a used Z1,(ill post a proper intro and how I got it later).

But any ways a quick question about my Z1.

Right now its out of the car so I did the 2 wire bypass,but I do not know if its been updated.

The manufacture date is April 2006,but on the screen while loading it says 2008.

So before I install it in my car should I ground the 2 wires? I dont want to fry any thing.

Right now I cant check the system hardware menu since its out.

Ok I installed it so what I have is:

version 03.000

device # 400931f8ba7b4a1a

cddb version 07-01-0030

 

Thats all it shows.Can any one tell what update/software I have?

You have the updated firmware for the 2 wire bypass to work properly. Your Maps/POI are Z3 from 2008. CDDB is your Gracenotes database, and it's a couple of years old.

Ok sweet .So all I need is the cddb/gracenotes free update from pioneer and buy the 2010 maps?No need to have some one update the HDD?

If you want to fully update, you need to get the Pioneer Ver5 update, replace the drive with a preconfigured drive, or updated your exisiting drive. The newer updates are 2 years newer than what is currently installed. Once you get the Version 5 (yours is Version 3), then you can upgrade the gracenotes database with a download from Pioneer.

right?Then update the gracenotes.Where do I get the ver.5 software?
