uribees
That tasker profile isn't working for me, when I got to Input -> Dpad it says "sorry that action is unavailable on this device".
jhanson999
That tasker profile isn't working for me, when I got to Input -> Dpad it says "sorry that action is unavailable on this device". Hmm... about the only think that may make a difference would be go to settings -> security -> device administrators and make sure tasker is checked as an admin. If not, I'm not sure why it wouldn't be available. I'm on the Sprint version of the S3.... are you on a GSM model? Would something be different there?
tls2000
Wow! I had no idea Tasker could do that! Thanks for the tip!
tls2000
Ahh yeah, good point. FYI, I was wrong. That adapter is used with older MHL adapters to make them compatible with the S3. It'll allow all of the functionality still, including charging. I actually went out and bought the S3 MHL adapter. I don't have the patience to wait for that adapter to come out. lol
tls2000
Looks like I can't use the dpad either. Is your phone rooted? I haven't rooted mine yet as I'm going to be trading it in for a Pebble Blue one later today.
tls2000
That tasker profile isn't working for me, when I got to Input -> Dpad it says "sorry that action is unavailable on this device". You need root access for that input to work.
tls2000
Yeah, I get the same annoying bluetooth pairing request everytime. I've scripted around it using tasker. Heres what I have: TASK 1: "Pairing Request" - Event -> UI -> New Window: Label: Bluetooth pairing request, Window Type: Dialog Actions: 1) Input -> Dpad -> Button Down Repeat 2 Times 2) Input -> Dpad -> Button Right 1 Time 3) Input -> Dpad -> Button Press 1 Time 4) Variable -> Variable Set -> Name: %AcceptBluetooth To: true TASK 2: "Bluetooth Accepted" - Event -> Variable -> Variable Changed, Variable: %AcceptBluetooth Value: true Actions: 1) App -> Load App -> AppRadio 2) Display -> Auto Brightness -> Set: Off 3) Display -> Display Brightness -> Level 0 4) Task -> Wait, 10 Seconds 5) App -> Load App -> AppRadio Alright, I've copied this. I'll find out later how well it works. I have another BlueTooth prompt I have to work on for my Elm327 Bluetooth adapter. Thanks again for the tip!
tls2000
Believe it or not, Tasker is a fraction of a second too slow to hit OK. The connection fails every time. Grrrrr!
DetCochese
Ok, I just wasted an hour trying to connect my new Appradio2 and my new Sprint SGS3. So evidently the android kit will not work? Will any part of it still work? Will an adapter run in line between the phone and android cable or do I have to take this car back to the installer to have it put in with a new cable? DetCochese
Finally got my s3 mhl adapter in after a week and got it hooked up. Galaxy s3 works great with the appradio2 for all who may be thinking about getting this phone. Just make sure you get the correct mhl adapter as the pioneer one doesn't work! Just to confirm, you ordered: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/EPL-FU10BEGSTA and it simply connects between the Android/Pioneer MHL cable (CD-AH200C) and the phone? I wonder if anyone has one of these locally on the night of the 4th of July? I doubt it.
stargate125645
Actually cancel what I said. Just spoke with a samsung rep and he said it will work with screens of 800x600 resolution (appradio 2). Also you can buy an MHL adapter to fit the pioneer one here http://www.samsung.c.../EPL-FU10BEGSTA The Appradio 2 is 800x480... I'm disappointed to see people having BT issues. I may have to stick with my Z130BT for a bit longer and hope Pioneer stops going down on Apple long enough to make things work for Android.
uribees
Okay so I rooted my phone so tasker has the full properties but it still isn't working when I use the script you posted. It doesn't seem like the D-pad is doing anything at all. It launches appradio like part of the script but it doesn't auto accept the bluetooth pairing request. Any help would be much appreciated. tls2000
You need to go into the accessibility options and turn on the Tasker service so that Tasker knows when the prompt comes up.
uribees
I did do that. I found the problem, tasker is pressing the dpad too slow and doesn't get to the okay button in time.
tls2000
Yup. I have the same problem. I'm trying a different kernel right now to see if that changes anything. Which carrier are you with?
