RishMaster
I just had the Sirius installed on my AVIC-N1 and I can't get it to change from channel 187 to 000 so I can activate it... Help?
cntrylvr79
Why do you need to change the channel to activate it. The sid is on the box. Give them that and once it get the activation signal you can change it to whatever station you want.
RishMaster
I know... But the guys who installed it threw all that stuff away without writing it down.

Big mistake of an amateur install shop. always take the boxes, manuals, and extra wiring with you. never know when you might need it.
RishMaster
They are the largest AVIC installers in Western Canada... I think that they made a mistake by tossing it. Â Anyways, is there any other way to get the SID so I can activate it? Also, if I get the N3 CDs will I get better functionality out of the Sirius module (SIRPNR2C)? whtcrxghst
The N3 disks will not help the functionality. If they are that large a dealer, take your car back and have them either find the boxes to your stuff, or have them exchange it with another one and save the packaging  They are the largest AVIC installers in Western Canada... RishMaster
They said if I bring the car back they will pull the unit out and get the SID for me... I was just hoping to avoid that hassle. Â If I replace the N1 brain with a N3 brain from eBay, will that improve the functionality?
PaisanNYC
no unfortunately the Sirius tuners for the AVIC all have horrible interfaces.
RishMaster
Should I go with XM then?
whtcrxghst
XM isn't much better on an N1. Go with whatever you like better
PaisanNYC
Dont go with a service because of how the interface looks on the screen. thats stupid and you might be paying money for a service you dont like. Do the 3 day free trial of both service's online radio players to see which one you like better. If you must have a "cool looking" interface, get the N3 and an XM tuner, simply for the aesthetics.
