bumpaudio Posted August 12, 2012 Report Share Posted August 12, 2012 need some help hooking up a back up camera. how does the z1,z2 z3 know that the car is in reverse? is there a wire that needs to be hooked up somewhere? i want to use a cheap camera i found on amazon, looks like it has a lone composite video and a power cable, wheres the best place to give it power? im hooking it up to a silverado 05. any install threads/ how too's? garrettoomey Posted August 12, 2012 Report Share Posted August 12, 2012 Instructions for install can be downloaded at Pioneer's website. You only need to connect the avic's purple wire to the reverse lights, and this tells the avic it's in reverse. Be sure to use a "backup" camera, otherwise the image will be reversed in your screen.
