jsenka
I have an X710BT in another car and I like it welI enough, so I bought a new X950BH for another car. During my first road trip (Michigan to Colorado and back), I came to realize that there doesn't seem to be an option to search for a POI along the active route. Maybe I'm just missing something. I can't imagine that someone would build a nav system without that capability. It sucks when you're trying to find a gas station along the interstate and you have to figure out whether they're ahead, behind, or buried somewhere in a town off the highway. Any ideas? VBLUE42
We have been complaining about this sense the Z110. Just one of the many reasons why the navi software Pioneer went with in this series of units is the worst ever.
jsenka
That's really disappointing. I guess I should have done more research. Anybody know of any hacks or mods to deal with this?
oldergeek
Sorry I can't come up with a hack, but I do have an excellent phone app that does exactly what you need, AND gives you the location of the lowest price gasoline. Take a look at GasBuddy http://www.gasbuddy.com/GasBuddyMobileApps.aspx. Available for all phones I believe.
Preroll
I have an X950BH and I agree. You can search near me (up to 50 POI's within a 100 mile radius), around a city or around another destination but not on the route. You can add waypoints to a route but that's not the same thing. It's retarded that I can do this with my Garmin NUVI but not with this head unit. They added a couple of neat features but leave out the some of the most basic ones including not having posted speed limit data which the smaller PND's have. I can't imagine how they could come up with a concept model excluding this stuff when it was being developed.
VBLUE42
I can't imagine how they could come up with a concept model excluding this stuff when it was being developed. Especially when the first gen X series included this feature.
Preroll
Especially when the first gen X series included this feature. Yeah that's right. I forgot about that. I don't get it (and neither do they apparently).

I have never seen a nav system, even a $59 refurbed TomTom that didn't have this feature. Even my crappy 2012 Toyota factory nav does it, which, until this Pioneer unit, I considered to be the worst nav ever IMO. Pioneer needs to get a clue and fix this. It can't be that hard. As it stands now, I've bought my last Pioneer product.
Nimbus117
Sure my 940BT shows gas stations (or whatever you select on route). I will have a look tomorrow but it's only the same logic as speed camera's and they work.
