AVIC N1 with CD-IB100II Ipod Adapter... Problems...

Recommended Posts

When I plug in the ipod, it locks out the controls (like it should I am assuming) the ipod screen then says pioneer, it charges the battery, plays the music, but I have no idea what im listening too, I cannot navigate through the folders, it doesnt show what is playing, just shows this on the screen IPOD0000 (the zeros represent the song as its playing)

Any clue?

Press function 3, then press send. The song title should be displayed then. If its not making any sound when you press the button, you might want to try resetting it.

Also, one tip... if you want your ipod to play on random, set it on the ipod. If you try to set it on random via the avic (by holding send on function 2), it will just display random on the screen instead of the song title.

Never fear, here is a resolution if you would like to control the ipod itself using the cd-ib100....

Step #1) Turn on your car so that the radio is functioning.

Step #2) Keep the ipod unplugged from the radio, but keep the ipod in one hand and the radio connection in the other.

Step #3) Hold down the play button on the ipod, and before the ipod powers off plug it into the radio. You will know if you did this wrong if you plug the ipod into the radio and it powers back on immediately. This means that you shut it off before plugging it in. In order for this to work, you must hold down the play button and continue holding it until the ipod shuts off after it is plugged in.

Step #4) Turn the ipod back on. You’ll see the “Pioneer†screen, but if you give it a few seconds, and then press the menu button, you’ll notice that you can navigate the ipod windows just as you should have been able to normally.

Try it a couple of time if you don't get it at first, it will work (However I have heard it doesnt work on the 1st or 2nd generation ipods (i.e. the old school ones)
