dong
Just yesterday Pioneer released two firmware updates for the Z140 (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/firmware) to enable lightning port functionality. They are the ver 5.1 for those who installed the Navteq T1000-20495 map update or ver 4.6 for those who didn't update. I have a Z130 with the 2012 Navteq map update T1000-19328. Which of these two firmware will work with the Z130? Also, what is Navteq update T1000-20495?
onefast96svt
I'm in the same situation and was wondering the same. I'm sure pioneer doesn't care about our old units and wants us to upgrade to new units. I pray it will work, just need a guinea pig.
VBLUE42
You have to upgrade to a Z140 by purchasing the map upgrade. Then you will be able to apply this update.
dong
Thanks for the info. I already have the 2012 map upgrade (T1000-19328). I'm going to wait until the 2013 map upgrade before I try this.
VBLUE42
Then you already have a 140. You should be able to apply the update now.
dong
In that case, I'll be the guinea pig. Pioneer is having a 1/2 off sale on the CD-IV202NAVI (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Smartphone-and-iPod-Cables/CD-IV202NAVI). I'll try it as soon as I get the parts. rtonerii
Do you know if this will work with the Z110BT? I have the 2013 maps on my system but I can not connect my iPhone because of the lighting cable.
VBLUE42
If you have the 2012 maps you now have a 140 so the update should work.
RonS
If you have the 2012 maps you now have a 140 so the update should work. I wonder if there's more to it. I looked at the 5.1 update's installion doc and it says: "IMPORTANT: DO NOT perform any steps of this firmware update if the model number is anything other than AVIC Z140-BH or AVIC X940-BT. Check your model number before updating the firmware. For the AVIC Z140-BH the model number is located to the left of the VOL button ... ". So this would seem to eliminate any pre-Z140 (or X940) units that had CNSD310-FM installed. Plus, the only references to NAVTEQ T1000-20495 is in news blurbs about this update. No idea what it is or where to get it. So yeah, someone wanna be the guinea pig???? I don't even have an iPhone, just a 3rd G iTouch - so I'm not even tempted.
onefast96svt
Yes please someone try this! I have a 130 upgraded and am scared to try it!
dong
So, my first attempt at updating failed. I was able to load the updated software version 4.6, but I'm unable to update uCom to 8.05. My system uCom is currently version 8.01. When running Program forced write, the version of uCom on the SD card is ----------. I was able to update the Bluetooth firmware from 3.24 to 3.32 with no difficulty. I wonder if that would improve Bluetooth performance. Luckily, I have a backup copy of my USER directory, so I was able to restore my software to 4.0001. Any suggestions? Should I try the 5.1 download? Will the 2013 map update possibly work?
dong
Ok, so I tried it again. uCom is still not getting updated. I'll wait till the next map update and see what gets changed. If that doesn't add Iphone 5 app mode support, I'll switch to the AppRadio 3 and remove the Z130.
ac146
If you have the 2012 maps you now have a 140 so the update should work. Hi VBlue42! But which update to do use? The 4.6? or the 5.1? (We have a x9310bt with the Navteq 2012 map update.) Thanks
dong
So, I found more information. According to the following posts, a Z110BT, Z120BT and Z130BT are not equivalent in hardware to a Z140BH (even with the map update). http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/37407-2013-eu-update-f30-f930-f9310-f40-f940-f840-f8430/?p=272846http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38050-x940update-not-working/?p=273425http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38050-x940update-not-working/?p=273437 It seems that there are different uCom firmwares for each of the different kinds of hardware. SAL/SYS123 = X940, SAL/SYS110 = X930 and so on. Included in the Z140BH ver. 4.600 iPhone 5 firmware update are SAL/SYS121 directories.
dong
Navteq finally posted the T1000-20495 2013 map update on their website at www.navigation.com. The manual PDF specifically states that iPhone5 lightning functionality is for AVIC Z140BH and X940BH. Looks like us with older units are out of luck.
