Hello guys. Its time to finally upgrade my old outdated Pioneer AVIC-N1. She's been a good unit but the times have passed her by. I'm considering the SPH-DA210 or even the AVH8500BHS, but I'm confused by all the different cables and add on parts I need to work with my Samsung Galaxy S3. I would like to have mirror link and I believe its not availbale on the 8500, only the DA210. Problem with the DA210 is my vehicle dash depth wont accomodate the 210 without some cutting. Not a big issue. What I want is a unit that I can watch Netflix on and also be able play my Directv and Geniego apps on. Correct me if I'm wrong but i believe as long as the phone is connected via an HDMI cable I can watch any of my video apps on the unit, however only the apps that are app radio approved can be controlled by the unit touchscreen. Is that correct? Are both of these units capable of utilizing netflix and my directv apps, and what additional cables would I need? Also can someone please explain to me what ARliberator is? Thanks for the help and please excuse my ignorance but the more info I read the more confused I get so best for me just to ask.

ARLiberator is one of the two Android APPs that allows you to control any APP with the unit touchscreen. There are a lot of videos in youtube where you can see ARL working. For example, I uploaded one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3VfgmiZG5A

- ARLiberator (http://appradioforums.com/index.php) : The developer seems to have stopped developing but in his forum, there's a lot of information. I think it works for the 8500 but not for the DA210

- AppRadio Unchained (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451980): For what I've read, it seems to work better with all the AppRadio head units except wtih mine (F50BT/Z150BH) if you want to use Waze.

For using either of them, the phone has to be rooted.

If you want to use a samsung galaxy s3 in any Head unit without MirrorLink, you need the original Samsung MHL adapter. With mirrorlink, I don't have any idea what you need
